AT AUSA 2026 in Washington on 13 October, ISTEC Services Limited and NP Aerospace Canada announced an MoU aimed at supporting the growth of in-country defence programmes.
ISTEC, an established developer of weapons integration solutions with a four-decade legacy, has an operationally proven global reputation for the supply of ITAR-free, robust, high quality crew-served weapon mount solutions and other counter measures and ancillaries for military use across land, sea and air platforms. Its solutions are system, platform and OEM agnostic. NP Aerospace Canada is a leading armour manufacturer and vehicle integrator and a significant part of the NP Aerospace global business, which has doubled in size over the last two years in line with growth in military contracts. Collectively, NP Aerospace has over 100 years of experience, providing high performance defence solutions, integrated systems and support solutions for vehicle OEMs.
The MoU provides for in-country integration, assembly, repair, maintenance, sustainment and support services for ISTEC products and technologies in Canada. ISTEC retains ownership of its intellectual property, providing technical expertise and product authority.
NP Aerospace Canada will provide access to its significant maintenance and repair facilities, which have doubled in footprint in the last year, and wider engineering resources and extensive support infrastructure. Both companies will also collaborate on in-country opportunities and potential agreements that are of mutual benefit.
Anne Quelch, Director at ISTEC commented, “Over recent years ISTEC has worked hard on expanding our global partnerships and cooperation agreements to ensure we deliver the best possible support to our international customers and maximise global opportunities. We have vast experience in working closely with NP Aerospace on any number of key projects so are looking forward to extending that success into Canada.”
“ISTEC is one of our exceptionally trusted mission systems suppliers”, added James Kempston, NP Aerospace CEO. “Over the years, together, we have delivered battle proven vehicle integration solutions to meet urgent operational requirements across multiple platforms [and we are] confident in the mutual benefit it will deliver, as the Canadian defence market continues to grow.”
