Moxa launches first AI-ready x86 IPC series

C4ISR and cyberEmbedded systemsNews

Moxa Europe GmbH has revealed its first range of AI-ready rackmount IPCs. The RKP-C220 series, aimed at applications demanding reliable, scalable edge AI, comes with a x16 PCIe slot that supports full-length discrete GPU cards for AI-accelerated performance at the edge. Additional PCIe slots, a x8 and a x1, provide flexible expansion options. The robust fanless thermal design, high-performance processor, and comprehensive I/O expansion options enable the RKP-C220 to drive optimal performance from distributed devices.

Popular wisdom has it that AI technology is driving  demand for decentralised data processing and real-time decision-making solutions. By eliminating latency, AI at the industrial edge enables real-time data analysis and autonomous decision-making, leading to enhanced operational efficiency, speed, precision and scalability. “In a complex IIoT environment, the ability to support massive data analysis hinges on a reliable edge device infrastructure,” says Jonas Chen, head of x86 IPC Business at Moxa.

Developed for AI platforms to efficiently handle data cleansing and complex analysis, as well as enabling accurate responses to use requests, the RKP-C220 series has passed the Intel ESQ test, validating the device’s ability to run demanding AI language models with high performance. Moxa’s patented fanless heat dissipation technology further enables reliable performance. Capable of operating across a wide temperature range, the RKP-C220 is built around a 13th generation Intel Core processor with up to 24 cores and 32 threads and offers comprehensive storage for flexible data management by supporting two 2.5-inch SSD slots and three high-speed M.2 storage slots with two sets of Intel RST RAID 0/1. A rich set of connectivity options includes up to 8 LAN ports, 10 serial ports and 2 CAN ports, enabling seamless integration with diverse field devices and data transmission across complex networks.
