Sigma Advanced Systems acquires Nasmyth Group

Sigma Advanced Systems UK Limited announced its acquisition of the Nasmyth Group on 3 November. The acquisition will result in the strengthening of Sigma’s future growth and will enhance Nasmyth’s ability to deliver continued innovation to the defence and aerospace communities, a company release stated.

Among Sigma’s specialisations are reliable, high-performance avionics, naval systems, communication systems, submarine platforms, radars and counter-UAS systems. Nasmyth Group unites a portfolio of customer-focused precision engineering businesses under one global brand. It delivers advanced engineering solutions in four specific disciplines: machining; fabrication and welding; systems integration; and metal treatment.

This acquisition is an important step to our growth strategy in the global aerospace industry. Sigma and Nasmyth will look to leverage Nasmyth’s Tier-1 supplier status to Major OEMs as they bid for large work package,” commented Pramood Raju, Director of Sigma. John Rooney, Nasmyth CEO, added: “Sigma’s strategy aligns perfectly with our vision for growth and we are already investing in our facilities to increase capability and capacity to meet rising demand across the aerospace and defence sectors.”

Megasoft, the India-based parent company of Sigma Advanced Systems, reported the cash consideration of the deal at ₹213 crore, the equivalent of approximately £17.8 million. The acquisition represents a key milestone in Megasoft’s evolving strategy to expand significantly into the defence and aerospace communities.
