At the Seoul International Aerospace & Defense Exhibition (ADEX) 2025 on 21 October, Hanwha Aerospace signed an MoU with Akkodis Nordics to jointly develop a tactical simulator for the Chunmoo MLRS.
Seen as an integral component of Hanwha’s strategy and commitment to the Norwegian market, the agreement sets out to foster a strong and integrated local industry collaboration. Co-development of the simulator ensures the training solution will be closely tailored to the specific operational requirements of the Norwegian armed forces. It also establishes a viable foothold in the wider Nordic and north European market – an important target for the Korean company.
Using GPS/INS-guided missiles, the next-generation precision guided missile system boasts pinpoint accuracy for high precision strike capability. Already in service in Poland and nations in the Middle East, it has already been field proven in a wide variety of operational environments. It is being offered as a candidate for part of Norway’s Long-Range Precision Firings System (LRPFS) programme.
“Partnering with Hanwha Aerospace allows us to bring our digital engineering and edge technology expertise into a project of true strategic importance,” said Sebastian Eidem, Vice President of Operations at Akkodis Nordics. “Together, we aim to set a new benchmark for simulator development — combining realism, safety, and advanced technology to support the Norwegian Armed Forces.”
At the same time, Hanwha signed additional MoUs with EIDEL, a Norwegian technology company specializing in advanced defence and space solutions, to explore potential cooperation in mobile test control systems and T&G Elektro, to discuss possible collaboration in electrical and electronic systems.
