Mistral, Inc. and Uvision, Inc. (formerly UVision USA) announced a multi-year IDIQ contract with the US Army for the HERO 120 loitering munition, valued at $982 million.
HERO 120 was developed as a munition optimized for precision engagement of high value targets, such as armoured vehicles at medium ranges and has already demonstrated effectiveness in varied operational environments, providing soldiers with organic battlefield awareness, identification, tracking and precision engagement capabilities. Its open architecture, modular design and advanced payload options make it ideal for both conventional and asymmetric operations, the companies stated in a 3 October release. The current contract covers system deliveries, training and lifecycle sustainment, with initial deliveries expected to begin in early 2026.
Mistral will serve as prime contractor, responsible for system integration, the lethality package, programme management and sustainment support; as the established design authority, Uvision brings deep technical expertise and extensive experience in training and fielding loitering munitions worldwide. “The HERO 120 delivers a powerful combination of lethality, flexibility, and operational simplicity,” observed Mistral’s SVP, Yoav Banai.
