On the back of a recent significant investment programme in robotics, AI and advanced manufacturing technology, Pearson Engineering has signed an MoU with Ukrainska Babovna Ltd, a Kyiv-based systems integrator that brings multiple-sourced components together into cohesive systems to directly address operator requirements.
The MoU covers the development of high-quality repair and maintenance services for equipment already in Ukrainian service and training for operators of engineering equipment. It will also explore production of Pearson equipment in Ukraine, in support of both the current military campaign and the drive to restore land use for domestic and agricultural purposes.
Pearson exports some 75% of its products worldwide – in 2024 that amounted to approx. £60 million. It has been supplying specialist demining equipment to Ukraine to assist in humanitarian demining and enable reconstruction.
“Pearson Engineering technology delivers groundbreaking opportunities – on the battlefield and in restoring post-conflict terrain to safety. This agreement works in the interests of a safer and more secure environment for the people of Ukraine in future,” commented Pearson Engineering Group CEO, Ian Bell.

Ukraine now enjoys – if that is the right word – the distinction of being the most heavily mined country in the world and the two companies are emphasising the humanitarian and reconstruction support aspects of the agreement. Training engineers and maintainers to extract maximum utility from assets already delivered and to repair critical systems for immediate future use lies at the heart of the MoU – and at the heart of Pearson’s continued commitment to continually enhancing its customers’ operational effectiveness.
